About

Welcome to the webpage of Colin David Reed, tenor and singing teacher. Colin is an experienced singer, having started in choral settings. He went to university with a choral scholarship originally to study chemistry. After singing for various choirs around Birmingham and having conducted and composed for the university chamber choir, he decided to take his vocal studies more seriously. He studied for many years with Howard Milner, followed by shorter periods with Jeffrey Talbot and Neil Howlett. After completing an MA in Voice Pedagogy with Distinction he now studies with the tenor John Graham Hall. Operatic repertoire has taken him from Puccini to Britten, from Mozart to Wagner, taking in Strauss (Johann and Richard) and Lili Boulanger along the way. Colin has also performed music theatre by Sondheim, Bernstein, Lucy Simon, Cole Porter and many others.

Colin has been a full time singing teacher since 2009. In addition to his private studio he is also visiting vocal tutor at the University of Lincoln and the West Bridgford School.
